Late at Night (EP)

The pandemic blues, what else is new? They say they'll cure it, or we'll have to choose, A life lived in danger, or lived in a tomb, how you getting through? What you gonna do? Oh, oh, the pandemic blues, Oh, oh, the pandemic blues The pandemic blues, like Groundhog Day, everywhere you look, someone holds your fate, You read a book, or you make a date, you stay inside, don't go past the gate, Oh, oh, the pandemic blues, Oh, oh, the pandemic blues Too late to realize, you shouldn't have let it begin, Too let to recognize, you share the original sin.... The pandemic blues, turn off the news, Everyone is crazy, living in their zoo, You look for comfort, you just get grief, And your time's all stolen, an invisible thief, Oh, oh, the pandemic blues, Oh, oh, the pandemic blues There's still, just a little time, to just get out of the way, Don't let them beat you down, ruin a beautiful day The pandemic blues, gets under your skin, Don't have the answer, to the shape I'm in, Can't drown your sorrows, at the local bar, So you binge on Netflix, and play slide guitar Oh, oh, the pandemic blues Oh, oh, the pandemic blues Oh, oh, the pandemic blues, Oh, oh, the pandemic blues
2.
Late at night, when everyone's asleep, I go outside, under the trees, I get up and walk, go out look at the stars, for a while, I feel a little bit free Late at night, it's alright, late night I can breathe Late at night, there's no one to fight, in the quiet, I can be me...I can be me... Late at night, I stare up at the sky, how far off is Alpha Centauri? Still in my dream, or so it would seem, I don't have to face reality Most of the day, I don't feel OK, agonizing about everything, Most of the day, I can't let go of the pain, but late at night I can finally sing Nothing hurts, as the crickets chirp, late at night, when it's almost dawn... I had a thought, one I'd never got, what would happen if I let her down? but at last, whatever comes to pass, is just what happens when it comes around When it comes around... It's alright... It's alright.... It's alright....

I drove so far baby, tried to climb so high, just wanted to lose myself, thought I might as well try, If you never knew me better, baby, it would be alright, 'cause you got the best I had to offer, night after night, In the end I resolved nothing, but I kept moving, In the end I'm just living, breathing, before my time is all gone Saw mountains, hills, and valleys, deserts, rivers, and stones, I drove that endless highway, found myself still alone, Saw some clouds that cast big shadows, saw the Columbia gorge, Beautiful sky going on forever to the blue ocean shore In the end there's no right answer, everybody's unsure, The best laid plans foil the planner, no one has the cure, No one has the cure (coda) After all the sunny days, sunny days, come around the bend, After all the sunny days, sunny days, will I lose the plot again? After all the sunny days, sunny days, come around the bend, After all the sunny days, sunny days, will I lose the plot again? Will I lose the plot again? Will I lose the plot again?
